The mundane

The mundane

I’m still in Oxfordshire. Sprout is 9 months now – longer out than in – and is a curious, funny, charming, beautiful* little person. She’s definitely her own self now. She is all in everything.

I thought I would have a lot to say about motherhood and parenting but…I don’t.┬áIt’s happening. It’s going fine. We’re mostly enjoying it, but some bits suck. You can probably guess which bits are great and which bits aren’t.

Plus, I’m not sure how I feel about putting it all out there anyway. One day Sprout will be old enough to Google her own name (or whatever it is they’ll be doing in the future) and I’m not sure I want her baby pictures and stories about when she was in nappies there for school friends, employers and everyone to see. Stuff stays on the internet – as one of my friends discovered, when his primary school class photo was still a top ranking result for his name, age 30.

There are some things I’d like to write about – I have more travel photos to show you! – but for now, life is small, mundane and enjoyable. We’re pottering along and that’s grand.

* I may be biased. I tend to think all the things I’ve made are wonderful.
